Having
completed more than 1500 assignments over the past twenty-two years,
Ed Young is one of the most experienced commercial advertising photographers
in California.
In the 1980’s, Ed operated a 4000-square-foot studio in San
Francisco, specializing in technology, banking, oil industry and
medical photography for Fortune 500 companies such as Chevron, Bank
of America, Wells Fargo Bank, IBM, Hewlett-Packard, Shell Oil, Oracle,
Sun Microsystems, Westinghouse, Pacific Bell and GMAC Real Estate
Division. Assignments included trade and consumer advertising campaigns,
corporate brochures and annual reports. When not working in his studio,
Ed completed location assignments throughout the United States, Mexico,
Canada and Japan.
In 1989, Ed sold his San Francisco studio, moved
to Carmel, California, and built a studio on a beautiful pine and
oak covered ridge five minutes from famous Carmel-by-the-Sea. A transformation
in Ed’s
photographic career followed in the early 90’s as he began
working for many of the Salinas Valley produce companies. His previous
specialty areas evolved to his current specialties of California
agriculture, produce, wine and food. Within a few years, Ed was working
with produce companies throughout California. Corporate agri-business
clients and advertising agencies with agricultural clients throughout
the United States began to seek Ed’s services to produce their
photographic projects within California. Ed Young became known as
the premier California agri-business photographer, and his client
list became a “Who’s Who” of California agriculture
and produce. Client List - Ag/Produce Portfolio
A natural progression into prepared food photography
followed; in the beginning mostly for produce companies, but then
for commodity boards, commercial food companies and restaurants.

both in the field and in the studio. Ed Young knows California agriculture
and produce better than any photographer in California, and therefore,
can create images that truly help his clients market their products
effectively.
Ed also works with
a select group of local clients in Monterey and Santa Cruz counties,
utilizing his skills developed in San Francisco, photographing
